5 hours of NESA Accredited PD

Our online course ‘How to Assess Numeracy to Improve Student Outcomes’ informs teachers on strategies to improve students’ attitudes and confidence in mathematics by altering our mathematics assessment practices.    Participants will learn:

  1. A variety of ways to monitor student progress
  2. How to provide feedback to students to promote learning
  3. How assessment can contribute to a fixed or growth mindset
  4. How assessment can reduce or contribute to maths anxiety
  5. To collect valid and reliable data without contributing to ‘teacher overwhelm’
  6. To collate and analyse data to inform planning
  7. To identify who needs extra support within a RTI (Response to Intervention) model

NB: If students are provided early intervention in number sense they may well avoid developing difficulties in mathematics.
