This was a very worthwhile course. It provides a common-sense approach to recognize ‘number
sense’, how to administer the test and games you can use to help remediate and develop a number
sense.Karen Campbell, Teacher, Liberty College
Many thanks for the fantastic day last Thursday. It is not often that I come away from a PD day and feel confident about implementing new ideas in my classroom, but your number sense activities were spot on. I really liked that you took the time to teach them to us thoroughly and gave us opportunities to discuss differentiation. I have been using the activities each day this week and the children in my class are really enjoying them.
Julie Mitchell, Classroom Teacher, Timbumburi Public School
Great strategies that can be implemented into all grades in primary. All strategies are backed up by current research.
Heidi Brown, Year 4 Teacher, Tamworth Public School
Great introduction into number sense. Should be mandatory for beginning teachers.
Katrina Sangster, Teacher & Principal (Rel), Dundurrabin Primary School
What a great day! Concepts broken down into logical and practical explanations. Every idea can be implemented straight into the classroom.
Lisa Kelly, Teacher, Liberty College
Lynelle’s course on Number Sense helped me to recognise how vital number sense is when teaching Mathematics. She has really encouraged me to get my students thinking about their thinking. She also provided some practical activities I could begin implementing straight away.
How to teach number sense will change how you approach the beginning of your lessons. Setting students up for success in number will provide the confidence they require to become numerate. This PL provides current research and practical application. The particpants will gain substancially from the wealth of knowledge Lynelle brings to discussion. Thank you Lynelle!
